Gender inequality is a drawn-out issue in our general public, and females are segregated from or differentiated at numerous points of view in the social setting, though legitimately, females have equivalent rights. Hence, there is a particular need to educate the general public on sexual orientation issues to be no discrimination based on sex. The requirement for this affectability has been felt and acknowledged through prehistoric occasions and, in practice, a wide range of human presence worldwide. Instructive spaces impart thought and cause one to have a judgment that they accept.

Gender sensitization is defined as the alteration of behaviour by spreading awareness about gender equality issues. Highlighting our Indian culture, theories of gender sensitization assert that changing parent's and teacher's behaviour towards children can bring a causal effect on gender equality (Vasundhara, 2020).  In other words, gender sensitization is modifying behaviour and developing empathy in our views about our gender and the other gender. Gender sensitization is like a weapon that can help to take over gender equity, women empowerment, and rights to equal opportunity.

The campaign named Girl Rising is implemented globally. The campaign aims to change long-held beliefs and opinions regarding females. The campaign runs all over India and shows an increase in gender equality, and understanding of equal gender roles, privileges, and restrictions. The research further reports that this increase is highly significant in adolescents around the age of 12 years (Vyas, Malhotra, & Landry, 2019).
Compulsory subjects for sensitization:

  • Women s Suffrage- Women's suffrage is defined as the right of women to vote in elections. There were some liberal parties who fought for women’s rights back in the 18th century due to which now we can see equal participation of women in political matters. Gender Identity and Social Change incorporate broad material recording worldwide for female suffrage development and the battle for casting ballot rights worldwide. Reports highlight data on crusades, exercises, associations, and critical pioneers for sexual orientation fairness.

  • Women s rights- The primary flood of women s rights began in the late nineteenth century when ladies started to address routine sexual orientation jobs and lawful disparity. Second-wave women s liberation developed in the late 1960s and broadened its concentration to incorporate work rights and training. The Men’s Movement – The Men s Movement developed in the late 1960s because of the second rush of women s liberation. The social marvel speaks to a few various, unaffiliated systems focussed on contrasting – and regularly conflicting – objectives. Understand pamphlets and study gathering material from numerous associations inside the Men s Movement to find out additional.

  • Labour and workers- The historical backdrop of people in business and work are one laden with gendered inquiries concerning the idea of work, the difference between paid and unpaid work, and the partition between open and private workplaces.

  • Instruction and Training- Looking at training and preparing through a gendered focal point offers broad opportunities for understanding the open doors people offer in formal and casual instruction and business. Investigate material that offers both a male and female perspective on training and how openings were characterized by sex.

  • Government and Politics- The progressions to conventional sex jobs and relations can be followed through the individuals who campaigned for the administration to roll out an improvement. Understand correspondence, reports, and records, and view the intelligent sequence to investigate the legislature s job in the battle for sexual orientation balance.

  • Enactment and Legal Cases- The battle for sexual orientation uniformity was a fight battled in courtrooms worldwide. Investigate bills and acts that shed light on the legal history of female suffrage and father's privileges, and that is only the tip of the iceberg.

  • The Body- Explore gendered impressions of the body right now, and break down and challenge orthodox perspectives and thoughts encompassing sexual orientation. Becoming familiar with how the body influences our comprehension of sexual orientation, remembering material for how we dress our bodies, contentions encompassing fetus removal, and maltreatment of the body.

  • Sex and Sexuality- "Sex" and "sexuality" are broad terms that can be utilized to depict sex, physical relations, sexual direction, and self-articulation. The material remembered for this assortment tracks the reaction of different associations and people to sex, sexuality, and themes here and there thought about forbidden.

Conclusion
Gender sensitization is important because it clears the difference between sex and gender, how gender is socially constructed and the stereotypes around gender roles. It helps them to identify which assumption about gender roles and differences is actually true or if it is a stereotype. When both genders feel empathetic towards each other, it creates a positive and accepting culture at home, workplace and in society. Gender sensitization helps in gender justice, equality and inclusion. It also leads to managing stress and anxiety among women as they are treated equally as men and so there is no need for extra adjustment. It in turn doesn’t affect their self-esteem and self-confidence which leads to developing a better self-concept.
