We are social animals, and therefore healthy relationships are of high importance for our healthy functioning. Having strong and healthy relationships brings joy within us and supports us in every other aspect of our lives, however, they also come in with great challenges in maintaining them. Relationship counselling is highly effective and guides people in their relationship problems or simply making their relationships healthier.

Familial, romantic, friendly relationships bring a sense of fulfillment within us. A strong and positive relationship with anyone requires time, energy, skills for it to be stable in the long run. Successful relationships need work from both ends. Therefore, if conflicts arise within a relationship, it is advisable for both parties to seek professional help together. Trust

Trust is the foundation of all relationships. If partners do not trust each other 100%, several issues arise from them and do not allow the relationship to move forward.

Role of counselling in relationships

Therapy is a safe space to share all your thoughts and feelings without being judged. Often relationship counselling is done with partners attending the session with a counsellor. This helps them understand their needs and thoughts in more depth.

Counselling helps couples/ partners to develop skills of decision making, behavioral management, and time management to help bring out the best in their relationships. Counsellors give couples/partners homework in terms of communication, understanding, and valuing many aspects of their relationship for overcoming conflicts and smooth growth.

Counsellors may ask each partner individually for some sessions to provide a private space for you to express yourself freely. The counsellor then guides them personally on their respective problems. You can stay assured that the therapist will never share one partner’s issues with the other.

In relationship therapy, both individuals grow on different aspects and open substantial room for their relationship to heal and flourish. Many conflicts are resolved, many relationships become stronger than before, and the couple/partners prosper positively.
