What is homeopathy and how does it work?
+
Homeopathy is a system of complementary medicine developed by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann in the 18th century. It is based on two principles: similia similibus curentur (like cures like) and the use of highly diluted preparations. In India, homeopathy is one of six recognised AYUSH systems, regulated by the Ministry of AYUSH and the National Commission for Homoeopathy. Homeopathy is widely used in India for chronic conditions like allergies, PCOS, skin issues and gut concerns, often alongside conventional medicine. Patients should be aware that homeopathy is most appropriate for chronic, lifestyle-related concerns — not for medical emergencies, serious infections, or conditions like cancer, diabetes, hypertension or psychiatric crisis which need conventional treatment.
Are HopeQure homeopaths qualified and registered?
+
Yes. Every homeopath on HopeQure holds a BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine & Surgery) degree from a Central Council of Homoeopathy / National Commission for Homoeopathy recognised institution — a 5.5 year programme including a clinical internship. Many also hold MD(Hom) — the postgraduate qualification. All practitioners are statutorily registered with their State Board of Homeopathy under the AYUSH framework. Their registration numbers are displayed on each profile and verifiable on the National Commission for Homoeopathy register.
What conditions is homeopathy commonly used for?
+
Indian homeopathy is most commonly used for chronic, lifestyle-related or recurrent conditions: chronic allergic rhinitis and asthma (mild), eczema and recurrent skin conditions, PCOS / PCOD and menstrual irregularities, recurrent colds and tonsillitis in children, mild IBS and chronic gastritis, migraine and tension headache, mild anxiety and sleep disturbance, recurrent UTI tendency, and behavioural concerns in children. Homeopathy is not the right choice for: acute emergencies, serious infections, cancer, uncontrolled diabetes or hypertension, severe mental illness, or any condition needing surgery, antibiotics or critical care.
How much does online homeopathy consultation cost in India?
+
At HopeQure, online homeopathy consultation starts from ₹399 for a 30-minute first consultation. A 60-minute detailed case-taking (essential for classical homeopathy) is ₹999. A combined Homeopath + Counsellor plan (for stress-related conditions, PCOS or behavioural concerns) is ₹1,499. A 6-month structured chronic-care plan with the same homeopath is ₹4,999 and includes monthly follow-up consultations plus WhatsApp support. New patients save 25% with code HOMEO25.
Is homeopathy scientifically proven?
+
This is an important question we want to answer honestly. The mainstream scientific consensus — from systematic reviews by the NHMRC (Australia, 2015), the European Academies (EASAC 2017), and Cochrane — is that there is no high-quality evidence that homeopathy works beyond placebo for the conditions tested. At the same time, homeopathy has been a regulated medical system in India since 1973 under the Ministry of AYUSH, is widely used by millions of Indians, and many patients report benefit, particularly for chronic conditions where the therapeutic relationship, careful history-taking and lifestyle guidance may contribute alongside the remedy itself. We believe in giving you the honest picture so you can make an informed choice. Homeopathy may be appropriate as complementary care for chronic conditions — it is not a replacement for conventional medicine when conventional medicine is needed.
Can homeopathy be used alongside conventional medicine?
+
Yes — and this is how we recommend it. Homeopathic medicines are highly diluted and considered safe to take alongside conventional medication; there are no documented major drug-homeopathic interactions. Your HopeQure homeopath will always ask about your conventional medications, will NEVER ask you to stop them, and will coordinate (with your consent) with your treating doctor — gynecologist, endocrinologist, dermatologist, pediatrician — to ensure aligned care. We treat homeopathy as complementary, not alternative. If you have diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disease, asthma or any serious condition, please continue your conventional medication.
What is classical (constitutional) homeopathy?
+
Classical homeopathy, as taught by Hahnemann's Organon of Medicine, focuses on the whole person — not just the disease label. The homeopath takes a detailed case-history covering physical complaints, mental and emotional state, sleep, food preferences, temperament and life events. From this, a single 'constitutional' remedy is selected that matches your unique 'totality of symptoms'. This is different from over-the-counter combination homeopathic products. Constitutional case-taking typically takes 60–90 minutes for the first visit, with follow-up appointments at 4–6 week intervals.
When should I NOT use homeopathy?
+
Homeopathy is NOT appropriate for: medical emergencies (chest pain, stroke symptoms, severe injuries), serious infections needing antibiotics (sepsis, pneumonia, tuberculosis), cancer (homeopathy is not a cancer treatment), uncontrolled diabetes or hypertension as a replacement for medication, asthma attacks (use your inhaler), psychiatric emergencies including active suicidality, paediatric emergencies, anything needing surgery, and pregnancy emergencies. Please call 112 in any emergency, your treating doctor for serious illness, and your conventional doctor before stopping any prescribed medication.
How long do homeopathy treatments typically take?
+
In classical homeopathy, acute complaints (recent cold, acute eczema flare) may respond in days to weeks. Chronic conditions typically require 3–12 months of monthly follow-ups before significant change is expected. PCOS, chronic skin conditions and chronic allergies generally take 6–12 months. Homeopaths typically reassess every 4–6 weeks and adjust the remedy if needed. If there is no clear improvement after 3 months of consistent treatment, your homeopath should honestly discuss whether to continue, change approach, or refer back to conventional care.
